I've never read a book quite like this before. The closest I could compare it to would be the Hitchhikers Guide.
Looking forward to the next installment, the cliffhanger has me hanging! (Won't give a summary, don't want to spoil the surprises.?

I had a hard time putting this one down. Reasonable people sleep now and then. People like me get caught up in the story. 3a.m., book in hand, I was riveted. Whichever and whoever was the legitimate author(s), well done! I anxiously await Episode 2.
What the hell is wrong with this guy?
That was my first thought about Casey Atlas, the main character in Time Looter. Well, maybe not my *first* thought; my first thought was that he was just a big, dumb bully, the kind every 'Murican male reading this remembers having to contend with in their high school gym class, and every female remembers having to fend off in every other part of the school. But he's not, really. A dummy, that is.
There are some parallels between Time Looter and Back to the Future. In fact, Cooper mentions Back to the Future explicitly in the book; Casey Atlas, as it turns out, thinks about it a lot. But aside from time travel in general, and the danger of changing the time line in particular, there are more differences than similarities. Casey Atlas is definitely no Marty McFly. He may not be a dummy, but he has zero impulse control, seeming to go out of his way to do dumb things, and is always, *always* looking out for himself. Period.
Casey Atlas wasn't one of the easiest characters for me to relate to, but after the first chapter or so, I managed it. More or less. By the end of Episode 1, I was at least only cringing as I watched him running full speed (figuratively speaking) at brick walls, rather than outright cheering for the wall. And there are plenty of cringe-worthy opportunities, as Casey Atlas never fails to find some new way to place himself and everyone around him in danger of... whatever happens when you mess with the timeline. So now, like it or not, I'm hooked.
Time Looter is a solid read for anyone who likes time travel stories, "bad boy" stories, tongue in cheek stories, or any combination of same. The prose is meaty, the action is quick but not hurried, and the situations are thought-provoking, to say the least. Go give it a try.
Michael Bunker and Forbes West deliver a humorous time-travel tale steeped in 80's nostalgia. The only negative thing for me was having a tough time feeling anything for the main character Casey Atlas, but the positive side to that coin was the need to see what foolishness he'd embark on next. Casey Atlas was kind of like watching a train wreck, you couldn't stop looking. That alone kept me turning page after page. I spent many an evening with Time Looter, chuckling with amusement at the antics of a person who should really never have received the gift to travel in time. A very enjoyable read, highly recommended.
This story is, as the other reviews point out, funny. It is an anti-hero sort of tale with a cliffhanger ending.
It is written by a fictional character from another of Michael Bunker's works, specifically "Hell and the Sea" a novel being written on a subscription model and currently in progress. It will be sold when finished and will be worth it; I'm reading the chapters as he releases them.
Casey, the protagonist of this current tale, is a shallow jerk who really doesn't want to be where he starts the novel. He does become a bit more of a person by his meeting of a couple of nerds who have an incredible invention. He subverts their mission and finds a true adversary at the close of the first novel. You certainly want to find out what happens next, and somehow care about the lovable jerk.
